For Sylvia
November 02, 2009 08:11 AM PST
After giving me an idea of the music she wanted, I did a CD for a good friend of mine named Sylvia. While listening to it I was so impressed with the flow and continuity of it that I decided to add it to my Podcasts. I hope you like it as well. (I really hope Sylvia likes the CD or I'll hear about it for 44 years, hahaha). Well, here's my latest podcast addition "For Sylvia" and For You!. N-Joi! Independent Artists
October 13, 2009 02:24 PM PDT
There are many artists who produce some fantastic music that never makes it to major commercial stations. These talented individuals, (many, whom I feel, are so much more talented than a lot of those we hear daily on commercial radio), continue to pursue their passion, and produce great music hoping the next one is THE ONE! This episode consists entirely of Independent Artists, whose music I am proud to air at www.CandyRandyRadio.com, and in my podcasts. This episode includes music by: A.J. Diggs; Astral 22; Marian Marie; Ju-Taun; E-Life; Winfield Davis; Thomas Hunter; Tamika Nicole; Akini Blake; Kimmy Kearse; Calvin Richardson; Sumeka Jackson; The ConSoulTant; Eddie Sea; Shu; Walt Chris; K-Jon; Chanel Latrice; Where Day At; Kenny Wesley; 3 Central; Ba Bro To get more information on these artists (and others) go to www.CandyRandyRadio.com and click on the Artist Information section. Thank you for your continued support and now I invite you to give a listen to "Independent Artists", N-Joi! Duets, Duo's & Combos
September 24, 2009 11:44 AM PDT
The 1960's through 1980's produced some memorable and classic music by duets and duo's. (Think...Brook Benton & Dinah Washington, Marvin Gaye & His Girls, Mickey & Sylvia, The Simms Twins, Peaches & Herb, The Captain & Tenille, Sonny & Cher and on through Luther Vandross with Martha Wash, Patti Labelle & Michael McDonald, Keith Sweat & Jacqui McGee and countless others). This episode includes some of those wonderful songs that we loved then and continue to love to this day. Of course I'll have to do another one, or two, because I just couldn't get them all in one episode. But give a listen, and while listening you happen to think of one of your favorite duets or duo's you would like to have included in the next episode just click the Comment tab and leave me a comment. Until then here's "Duets, Duo's & Combos". N-Joi! Love Songs Vol 3

So I will be doing 3 episodes to insure that all songs that were submitted are included. If you didn't submit a song, and would like to, or if you just wish to comment on this podcast, just click on the comment link under the podcast picture and leave your comment. My thanks to all of you (especially my Memory Lane family) for your ideas, songs, and support. I'll be starting on Love Songs Volumes 2 & 3 real soon, meanwhile please turn down the lights and turn on Love Songs Vol 1. N-Joi! The Dells - Oh What A Night
August 25, 2009 03:54 PM PDT
The Dells are the Grandfathers of R&B harmony. They paved the road for such groups as the Temptations, the Miracles, the Stylistics and more recently, R&B harmony groups such as Boyz ll Men, Jagged Edge and 112: In essence, their unmistakable musical harmonies so cleverly created by the late Kirk Stewart and later fine-tuned by the great Quincy Jones are still working its magic --- 50 years later. Initially known as the El-Rays, the Dells started in 1952 in Harvey, Illinois, a Chicago suburb. They were five friends from high school, doo - wopping and harmonizing on the corner of 147th St., & Robey. They would sing down in the subway to get an echo sound. Unlike many of their contemporaries, The Dells lineup has not changed since 1960 and consisted of falsetto lead singer Johnny Carter (who died Aug 21,2009), lead singer Marvin Junior, Mickey McGill, Verne Allison, & Chuck Barksdale. Now here for your enjoyment is my salute to The Pride & Joy of Harvey, Illinois, The Mighty, Mighty DELLS!

Music can express our deepest feelings & strongest emotions. The songs in this episode (all requests from my Memory Lane Family members at I See Color) touch some of those emotions and feeling. I know because I experienced a variety of them myself while putting it together. I want to thank all my ISC Memory Lane friends for the great artist & songs they requested, and for reviving some very fond memories. Now I invite you to stroke your own memories and give a listen to my episode of "Joy & Pain". N-Joi! Stylistics - I'm Stone In Love With You
August 10, 2009 03:53 PM PDT
The Stylistics, a Thom Bell produced group was one of the hottest groups of the 70's recording some memorable hits of that decade. "Stop, Look Listen", "Break Up To Make Up", and "You Make Me Feel Brand New" are just a few of their unforgettable hits. So now just relax, and give a listen, because "Betcha Bye Golly Wow" you're gonna enjoy this stroll down Memory Lane. Ladies Of Song (Vol 2)
August 01, 2009 02:03 PM PDT
The "Ladies Of Song" series continues with more of the best hits by some great ladies. I'd like to thank my I See Color "Memory Lane" family members for their invaluable input & inspiration which helped me put this one together. Now I invite you to get your groove on with "The Ladies Of Song (Vol 2)". N-Joi! Ladies Of Song (Vol1)
July 24, 2009 08:45 PM PDT
This is the first of a series of Podcasts I'll be doing on Ladies Of Song. I have compiled on this episode some great songs, all recorded by some fantastic ladies, some solo artists, some group acts. Most of these recordings, at least for me, evoke fond memories of wonderful times, simpler days and special people. So give a listen, and allow your heart, soul, and mind to relax with these "Ladies of Song" N-Joi! Life Of A Music Legend
July 08, 2009 03:09 PM PDT
In 1969, I returned home from the US Army to a musical phenomena, "The Jackson 5". Jermaine, Jackie, Marlon, Tito & Michael had taken the music world by storm. I watched as they grew, and as Michael went on to become the consumate entertainer.
June 15, 2009 06:08 PM PDT
Its been said that there were 15,000 Doo Wop groups that recorded at least one record. Few of the doo-wop groups made the charts or were heard on radio. Fewer still were those groups that were able to have careers greater then a single hit. Here I've assembled some classic Doo Wops. So help yourself to these "Doo Wop Delights" . N-Joi! The Temptations - A Song For You
June 11, 2009 03:18 PM PDT
Here are some of my favorite songs by my favorite group...The Temptations. So click the link & "Get Ready" as The Tempting Temptations sing "A Song For You". Quiet Moments
